  • A big gap between our good intentions and our actions.

GOOD TIPS
PSA Kill Dates

If you produce a PSA campaign using union talent, it is very important that you put a “kill date” on the package – the date when your talent buy-out expires. If you fail to do this and the PSAs continue to air, the producing organization (or their ad agency that created the spot) can be liable for talent payments and a possible lawsuit by the unions. Also, it is very helpful to put contact information on the video tape box label and the cassette label because it is likely that the collateral pieces that came with the package will be discarded, leaving the station with no easy way to contact the producer. For other helpful tips on all aspects of PSA campaigns, go to http://www.psaresearch.com/faq.html.

The Power of Thank You

The Power of Thank YouIf you want to be successful with print PSAs, you may want to read an article entitled:
Hard Being Good – Worthy Causes But Unworthy Ads
by Martin Schrader, former Publisher of Harpers Bazaar Magazine.  In this article Mr. Schrader talks about the importance of designing compelling print PSAs and why so many non-profits fail to get their messages into the best magazines.  Read the full story at http://www.psaresearch.com/bib2003.html
