| U.S. Armed Forces: At any given time, America has about 1,430,895 active duty members in our armed forces. There are an additional 848,000 people in seven reserve components, all of whom have volunteered to serve their country, since we no longer have conscription.
These members of our military are stationed at more than 820 installations in at least 135 countries. There are about 120,000 serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, and nearly 30,000 serving in another very dangerous environment, the Republic of Korea. Some 85,000 are serving on ships at sea, deployed to various points around the globe to protect American interests.
This PSA is dedicated to these brave men and women who put their country first. |
