Barbara Nitschke

Barbara Nitschke, who has been with the firm for over 20 years, is the engineer who makes the trains run on time. Her official title is V.P. Administration and Evaluation. But in reality, she is involved in all client projects, from vendor coordination, to managing the entire campaign evaluation process.

Prior to joining Goodwill Communications, Barbara had extensive experience in retail operations and administration with large-box retailers such as Lord & Taylor, where she was Operations Manager of the Chevy Chase, Maryland store, the largest outlet in the Washington, DC metro region. She had full operations responsibility for maximizing profits through payroll and expense management, reduction of inventory shortage, and sales development. Direct areas of responsibility included personnel, customer service, merchandise receiving, security and housekeeping. She was also responsible for training and supervising 16 mid-management executives.

Before that, she was Human Resources Administrator for other stores in the Lord & Taylor chain in White Flint, MD and Fair Oaks Virginia, and held similar positions with Korvettes and Garfinckel’s Department Stores.
